why you did choose your career?

Life is a matter of decisions. Nevertheless, when I was a child, I could not make up my mind. I use to want and try everything. I remember that I dreamt of being a builder to build a huge house. This is due to the fact that I wanted a house suitable for my mom, since she is a wheelchair user. That is why I realized that I had to become an architect in order to design a house for mom. But the years passed by and I changed my mind. I decided to be a scientist, so I can create any sort of mechanism to help my mother in her day to day life. Nonetheless, I understood that she needed no help from, she would be fine without me.
Thus, I decided during my early teens that Curicó was not a proper home for me. I desired more , that is the reason why I came to Santiago. A bigger city would fulfill my ambitions, but I was still indecisive about the path to be followed. I did not know whether biochemistry or medicine, biology or physics, but I decided to apply for the biochemistry program. I made this decision based on my track at school. I was very good at biology and chemistry, so why not? However, I must admit that it was not the most conscious decision I have ever made. But the anxiety made me decide to enroll this program and I am very happy of having chosen it.
Currently, being at Universidad de Chile has been an amazing experience. I have had the opportunity of meeting new people, learning new things, and acquiring more and more knowledge. I can say that I have fallen in love with biochemistry. I can’t help it, I just love it. But now, looking forward, I aim to expand my horizons. My new dream is to emigrate to Canada and to carry out neuroscience research in the northern country.
